The 2008 Chapin Estate Lake Club - Come See What’s New!

Bethel, NY, April 16, 2008 … Spring has arrived, and the 2008 season at the Chapin Estate Lake Club is shaping up to be the best one yet! Thanks to the feedback of our members, the Chapin Estate Lake Club is proud to introduce new and expanded services and facilities that are sure to make our member’s experience fun and memorable.

Earlier this spring, we introduced our new Lifestyle Director and Club Manager, Annie Ducey. Annie comes to the Chapin Estate Lake Club with a diverse background in service and hospitality oriented fields and is a valuable addition to the Chapin Estate family. She has worked diligently to enhance and invigorate the Lake Club’s programming and introduce new features. “I’m thrilled to be a part of the evolving Chapin Estate Lake Club. Steve [Dubrovsky] and Howard [Schoor] are creating a very special place for Chapin Estate residents, and their commitment and vision makes my job a true pleasure,”says Annie.

The Club will kick off the 2008 season on Memorial Day Weekend (Friday, May 23-Monday, May 26) with a season opening mixer in the newly constructed Member’s Lounge and at the Lake Club Pavilion. The Member’s Lounge was built this spring, and features a two-sided native stone fireplace as well as a bar area and café-style seating. “The Members Lounge was created in the expanded multi-purpose ‘cabin’ that was built when the Lake Club was first constructed,” says Steve Dubrovsky. “Our goal was to create a space that could be used in all seasons by our members either for private occasions or Lake Club functions.”  Returning members will also notice a change in the pavilion. Roll down “walls” have been added to the open-air pavilion that will allow for extend usage from April to November without negatively impacting the openness and natural beauty of the setting. Covered walkways leading to the pavilion and lounge have been completed for protection from inclement weather. Parking has also been greatly increased and formalized.

The Lake Club is also pleased to introduce the new Fitness/Exercise Center, where members can workout using state-of-the-art-equipment in a climate controlled environment.  “The Fitness Center was the number one suggested improvement that our Members wanted to see at the Lake Club,” explains Annie. “A significant part of the Chapin Lifestyle includes wellness, and this is a logical next step for the Club.” The pool, with a new solar cover to keep the water temperature at its most comfortable, will also be opening on Memorial Day weekend.

Featured on Saturday, May 24th, will be the inaugural planting of our new Community Vegetable, Flower & Spice Garden, an afternoon class of mediation with Reiki & Yoga on our lake-side patio and a private tour with backstage access of Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. On Sunday, the weekend activities will conclude with the Grand Opening of the Fitness Center followed by brunch at the pavilion.

Other exciting Lake Club happenings this season include evening wine tastings, a fishing seminar with an excursion to Black Lake Creek. Also being offered are art classes, Pilates, Latin Salsa Jam dance classes, yoga, Reflexology and Reiki seminars, eagle presentation and bird identification workshops, movie nights, guided nature hikes and much more. “We are looking forward to a busy and exciting season,” says Annie.  “I encourage those Chapin residents who haven’t joined, to become members of the Lake Club – I sincerely believe that our members will enjoy the season we have planned.”
